Committees

Area Representatives Committee

Area Representatives (Area Reps) play a key role in keeping members connected with Provincial Council. There is one Area Rep from each of the six geographic regions in the province: Fraser Valley, Greater Vancouver Regional District (GVRD), Kootenays, North, Thompson/Okanagan, and Vancouver and Gulf Islands.

Their major responsibilities include distributing area funding to support local professional development and hosting “Meet and Greet” events in their regions. New Area Reps are provided with resource packages.

Find out who represents you: Area Reps are always happy to receive queries from local members.

School Affairs Committee

The School Affairs Committee provides an excellent opportunity for speech-language pathologists working in schools to connect with SLPs in other districts to share ideas and discuss relevant issues. All SLPs working in BC schools are welcome to participate in quarterly School Affairs Committee teleconference meetings.

For more information, contact the current Director, Schools SLP Practice.

Conference Committee

Members plan the Association’s highly successful annual conference in conjunction with Speech and Hearing BC’s Executive Assistant, Membership Chair and Conference Chair.
