May is Better Speech and Hearing Month

Better Speech and Hearing Month is here!

Every year, the month of May is dedicated to raising public awareness about communication and swallowing health. This year, we are launching a social media campaign to educate British Columbians on the important role of speech-language pathologists and audiologists.

We encourage you to help us spread awareness by posting on your own social media channels about your experiences as a professional. Additionally, if you follow the steps below, we will enter you into a draw to win one of the following prizes:

  • 1 Free Conference Registration
  • 1 Free 2024 SHBC Membership
  • Your Choice of a $200 Amazon or Teachers Pay Teachers gift card

To be entered the draw:

  1. Make a post about the best part about your job as a speech-language pathologist and audiologist
  2. Tag us in your post on Twitter – @speechhearBC, on Instagram – @speechandhearingbc or Facebook @speechandhearingbc
  3. Include the hashtag #IamSHBC

Please note:

Each post is 1 entry into the contest. Tag colleagues will earn you additional entries (1 entry per tag). Multiple entries are encouraged. If you prefer not to use social media, you can enter the contest by posting the poster in your workplace or community, take a picture and send it to janet@speechandhearingbc.ca for 1 entry.

Thank you all for your continued work and support. We are honoured to represent a community of professionals working hard to make communication and swallowing more accessible.

Happy Better Speech and Hearing Month!
