Stroke recovery, aphasia, apraxia of speech, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) – these are the areas of practice that led Marie Shuman to become a Speech-Language Pathologist. Marie has worked for the public health system in every area: acute care, inpatient rehab, outpatient services, and community health. Across all of these settings, the overarching theme is that Marie finds genuine joy in working with adult clients to communicate, connect, and celebrate! Embodying an enthusiastic drive and personalized, client-centered approach, Marie shines in her interactions with clients and their loved ones. For initial consultations, she prioritizes forming a real, human connection, and prefers to meet in person, wherever you are located! From that point forward, she is happy to meet virtually through FaceTime or Zoom, or to continue meeting in person in your home or a community environment.
