I am a Speech-Language Pathologist working at Asante Centre in both our Surrey and Maple Ridge locations. Asante Centre focuses on providing services for diagnosis and intervention for individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders including Autism and FASD. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of British Columbia in Cognitive Systems: Linguistics and my Masters of Science in Speech-Language Pathology at Eastern Washington University. I am registered with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC (CSHHPBC), certified through speech-Language Audiology Canada (SAC), and on the RASP list. Before joining Asante Centre in 2017, I have worked and volunteered with children in a variety of ways since 2003 including as a Speech-Language Pathologist, Educational Assistant, private tutor, Behaviour Interventionist, and group facilitator. English is my native language. I believe that therapy is most efficient when measurable goals are learned in a fun environment. Increasing verbal intelligibility, building spontaneous talking, and expanding vocabulary and social skills through play are some of my favourite goals to support. Supporting an improvement in quality of life across the age span is the reason why I pursued the field of Speech-Language Pathology.
