Arathy Jalaja Surendran graduated from the University of Kerala, India with a Master of Science degree in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology (MASLP). Since then, she has worked in different facilities across countries (India, USA and Canada) in varying capacities and with a multicultural population. For the past 5 years, she has focused her clinical skills on treating school aged children in Washington, USA with issues in articulation, fluency, voice, language, social communication skills etc. Arathy moved to Canada in January 2021 and holds RSLP license from College of Speech & Hearing Health Professionals of BC, Clinical Certification Credential (S-LP(C)) from Speech-Language & Audiology Canada and the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) with American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She is also on the supervised category of the RASP service provider list. Currently, Arathy is providing therapy services virtually for Resonance Speech Language Pathology, Advantage Speech Language Pathology and Mainland Speech Language Pathology. She has enhanced her technical skills in tele-therapy by attending telemedicine training conducted by Washington State Telehealth Collaborative and various other professional development courses pertaining to tele-practice. Arathy is a multilingual SLP and speaks English, Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi. Her passion as an SLP is to enhance the clinical sessions with children by collaborating and coaching parents/ teachers/ educational assistants to maximize therapy effectiveness.
