My name is Carolyn Gibbs and I am a speech language pathologist with 20 + experience. I maintain a small private practice in addition to working for a local school district. Mindful speech pathology is just that, mindful. We have to be present and connected to ourselves in order to be able to learn new things and connect them with past experiences. Mindfulness is connecting ourselves in the present moment to what we see, hear and feel, and smell. Being a mindful speech pathologist means being flexible, listening to the client and maintaining a connection. Mindfulness is an important aspect of speech and language therapy especially in children with autism, ADHD, anxiety, and learning disabilities. Please inquiry today as to how I can help your child or yourself in developing language, speech, or reading skills. I specialize in oral-myofunctional issues, reading and writing disorders.
