I have been a Speech-Language Pathologist since 1994, and have worked for 10 years in the Richmond Health Department with preschool aged children (1994-2004), followed by 10 years in the Richmond School District with students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 (2004-2014), where I was also a Consultant on the District Autism Team for 2 years. These experiences have allowed me to develop a good understanding of how the education system operates, both at the preschool and school-age level, and I have strong collaboration skills in liaising with families and school teams. I have a strong clinical background in supporting children with exceptionalities, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorders and non-verbal or minimally verbal children who require Augmentative & Alternative Communication. As well I have extensive experience working on speech sound disorders, apraxia, language delay/disorder and stuttering.
