Specialties / Services Provided

I provide in-person SLP services in the Oceanside area of Vancouver Island, including Qualicum Beach, Parksville, Coombs, Errington, and surrounding communities. I specialize in treating adults, in particular speech, language, communication and swallowing difficulties following stroke. But I also enjoy treating individuals experiencing all kinds of communication and language-related difficulties - brain injury, Parkinson's, pediatric articulation, language and literacy, dementia, and more! My favourite part of this job is working with families and caregivers to figure out how best to support effective communication in your day-to-day with a goal of improving overall Quality of Life.

Other Professional Practice / Service Information

My philosophy as an SLP is centered on Quality of Life, particularly when it comes to communication treatment. Whether it is for stroke recovery, return to work, or managing a neurodegenerative disease, therapy activities and treatment plans should go beyond drills and repetitive exercises. Speech therapy for the adult population should help people stay connected, feel understood, and participate fully in the relationships and activities that matter most to them. Involving caregivers and family members is a big part of this, since they are key partners in treatment and recovery.
